POSITION:                             Direct Support Professional

PROGRAM AREA:                Woodshop Area

POSITION OPENS:               January 10, 2023

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Job duties include:

• Provide instructional programming necessary to modify or develop attitudes, personal characteristics, work behavior and functional capabilities that assist individuals to reach their optimum level of prevocational and vocational development.

• Develop programs in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Team, and provide instructional programming that assists individual to understand the meanings, values and demands of work.
• Maintain clear, adequate, timely communication.
• Provide immediate counseling or assistance for employment-related and minor problems (i.e. assume role of key contact person).
• Spend majority of time working on the floor with the exception of paperwork, meetings, and person-centered emergencies.
• Attend appropriate in-services and meetings.
• Maintain saws and other power equipment at safe operating standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must be well organized and able to work with minimal supervision.

HOURS:         8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

WAGES:         $14.46/hour
